thanks to Sam and Jacob who were instrumental
as usual in recording the music. Their many pointers, tips, suggestions
as well as patience, encouragement, hard work, creativity, and friendship
mean very much to me. My initial concern about living up to our first
project was laid to rest rather quickley. This final result blows
me away. Thank you again.
If Not for You is dedicated to my wife first and also to my children, Sarah, Newton, and Mary, and extended family, friends, mentors, teachers, colleagues, and ancestors. I recognize that in this life no one is an island and that we stand upon the shoulders of our forbears. We are knit together. The tremendous impact that we have upon one another and upon succeeding generations is an awe-inspiring and awesome responsibility. Reunion is a party, a celebration of the above. Meditation and After the Storm are quiet moments of reflection. Lost Innocence is a most unusual song and makes me daydream. The cover pieces are extraordinary music. Our arrangements are notable. Time Past modulates from from one phase of life to another. Hope was written starting on the day after Christmas 2001 at my younger brother's home, hoping for a better world, hoping for our savior and fulfilled dreams of the new year, and finally hoping for a better day after the storm.
